Terminates known Malware
Antivirus software scans the entire system for viruses using virus definitions to remove malware threats. Antivirus software usually updates the virus definition library to stay up-to-date with the latest threats.
Prevents New Malware
Antivirus software checks if there are suspicious behaviour with the computer processing to initiate threat prevention. Antivirus programs therefore prevents malicious code and terminates access to malicious files and programs.
